This page will concentrate on early colognes of all types. The purpose
of this site is to show other interested collectors variants produced and our collection.
Also, it will help us when searching for like items for our collection (ie. - color, sizes, etc.).

A group of three early colorless colognes with plumes. From left: On the heel of
four sides; N PRENTISS // GOLDEN ROSE // 24 WM ST. // NEW YORK. It is decorated
on three sides with plumes, with ten on each. The neck is in eight sections and
the bulbous part is multifaceted. The throat is ground to accept a glass stopper
(missing). It was blown in a two piece mold and has a pontil scar with a small
amount of iron residue. (6 in. X 2 - 3/4 in.) Next is a unusually tall example with plumes
on three sides (fancy label side on fourth) and eight sided neck with bulbous section.
The lip is folded outward. The base has a large open pontil scar. (8 in. X 2 - 7/8 in.)
Lastly, this smaller example can be described as the one to it's left, but with a
different lip and scar on the base. (5 in. X 2 - 1/4 in.)

On the left is one with a thin flared lip and open pontil scar on base.
The right example has a rolled lip and pontil scar, but is very
unusual, because it is embossed on one panel with J.L. N.Y.
They are both 5 - 1/4 in. X 2 in.

Three 'hourglass' or polygonal colognes. The first is a deep amethyst, smooth base
variant. The second is a beautiful blue, smooth base variant. The third is an
aquamarine, with a pontil scar on the base. Each have eight panels tapering
through the waist and shoulder. Left to right: 4 - 1/2 in., 5 - 3/4 in. and 4 - 5/8 in.

Two very similar colognes referred to as the 'Madonna and
Child' (L) and the 'Knight' (R). The larger features a woman with
an infant. It is very much like McK. plate 107, no. 8. The
smaller is similar to McK. plate 109, no. 9 and 10. Both have
bases with pontil scars. Sizes are 5 - 3/4 in. and 4 in.

The left and the far right aquamarine variants are very close. The left one has an
early hinge mold, while the other has a pontil scar on it's base. The centered colorless
one has a scar, but also a bulbous neck... European? The aquas are very much like McK.
plate 109, no. 5. Sizes are 4 - 3/8 in., 4 - 3/8 in. and 4 - 1/4 in.

A couple of wicker embossed demijohn shaped colognes and a porcelain go-with. --- AntiqueBottleHunter.com

A couple of wicker embossed demijohn shaped colognes and a porcelain go-with.
From the left is a double handled varint with a pontil scar. (Similar to McK. plate 108,
no. 2 --- 2 - 7/8 in.). The next is cylindrical with one embossed handle (left shoulder)
and a pontil scar. (Similar to McK. plate 108, no. 1 --- 3 - 7/8 in.).
The last is a go-with demijohn that we purchsed in Germany.

The right one has the original red, gold and white label: EAU DE COLOGNE.
Both have a pontil scar on their base and are 4 - 3/4 in. tall.

(4 in. and 5 - 1/2 in.) The taller is embossed on one side of the top of
the neck with a V and the other side with a C. The smaller is similar
to McK. plate 109, no. 15 & 16. Both bases have a pontil scar.
The taller has a flat ground lip.

Five small sided colognes. The first four are 12 sided (approx. 4 - 3/4 in.) and
the last has 10 sides (4 - 1/4 in.). All of the bases are smooth.

A closer inspection and you have to look hard for these, the shoulder area
on one side has embossed: N.S.P. on the largest in the picture.
Sizes from the left: 5 1/8 in., 7 1/2 in., 6 5/8 in. and 5 5/16 in.
All of the bases have a pontil scar.
